But even before the process of making popcorn in the microwave was automated came along, it was never difficult to make a batch any time you wanted one. By just putting the bag in the microwave folded out in accordance with the instructions, you just gave the popcorn three minutes or so on high. Its actually fun to watch the popcorn begin to erupt as the bag in the microwave begins to push out and you hear and smell the popcorn being made.

The benefits of cooking full meals using your microwave is that it saves both time and energy doing it this way. If you can cook a main dish in fifteen minutes what might have taken an hour and a half in a conventional oven, that not only makes meal preparation so much easier for you, it cuts down on the power needed to work your gas or electric oven and it reduces the amount of heat that is pumped into your home when you use a full sized oven. There is no reason you cannot prepare main dishes or delicious side dishes in your microwave oven that are just as good as the conventional style of cooking. You just have to find recipes that adapt the cooking process to the unique aspects of cooking with microwaves.

One appliance that will help your freshman make that transition to college would be a very small or “mini” microwave oven. There are models of microwaves that are drastically smaller than the version you use in your kitchen at home. These miniaturized appliances are made for situations just like this where even though the living space is small, having a microwave would do a lot to help that college student cope with daily life in school.

If you do well with your internet research, you may also be able to find diagnostic guides to help you figure out what is wrong with your microwave. The simple complaint that “it won’t go” is not enough to go on. You cannot just start swapping parts out hoping you will get lucky and find the right one to fix the problem. You could easily replace the entire guts of the machine only to find out that all you needed was a new wall plug that you could have gotten at the local hardware store for three dollars. So look for the equivalent of a “microwave repair for dummies” guide to help you do some intelligent diagnosis of the problem you have so you can also figure out which part to buy to get the repair done.

Over Range Microwave

In addition to the cabinetry, look closely at the power and venting needs of a microwave oven. If you simply adapt an existing cabinet that is over the range, there may not be an outlet in the wall at the back of that cabinet to plug the microwave into. Also, microwave ovens have fans that vent fumes and smoke from the interior of the microwave to the open air. You must accommodate those fans to safely install your microwave over the stove.

The JE900 model juicer is anticipated to be a model that is used within the home, however, the power it conveys is unmatched in the department of retrieval of juice from vegetables in addition to both firm and malleable fruits.

The Breville JE900 Juice Fountain has a very wide array of features. These include a plunging utensil to force whole vegetables and fruit through the wide feed tube as well as a 3.5 liter slide-out pulp holder which has facility to accommodate a large amount of pulp as well as an easily cleanable configuration to make certain that cleaning up afterwards is hassle free. All of these features make this a juicer that is very easy to clean. The cleaning of the micro-mesh screen is aided by the inclusion of a nylon bristle brush.

Tortillas got its name from the Spaniards. The word “tortillas” comes from the Spanish word “torta” with the meaning being round cake. Tortillas are eaten everyday not just in Mexico but also in America. Americans put just about anything they can in the tortilla from meat and beans to apples and brown sugar. Ever try peanut butter and jelly in a tortilla? Many eat it that way; also, the tortillas are used with hot dogs, casseroles, and sandwiches.

Tortillas have been enjoyed for many centuries, but not with all the fillings that are used these days.

Tortilla history tells us that the Aztecs were making flour tortillas over 10,000 years before Christ. They ate a lot of corn, either direct from the cob or used as an ingredient in another recipe. The Aztecs would grind the corn into cornmeal and make corn dough, or masa, out of it. This was done by mixing the cornmeal with water, which had to be exactly the right temperature; else, it would be the wrong consistency to make a dough. When the masa was ready, the Aztecs would shape it into a ball and then flatten it into a type of thick pancake. When it was the right size and thickness, the masa dough would have been placed on a hot griddle and cooked quickly.

Modern tortillas are made the same way as those in tortillas history. A lot of tortillas are mass-produced in factories with machinery these days since the demand for them is very high. You can get tortillas in various flavors or even make your own homemade version and experiment with the flavors. Various Mexican foods use tortillas. One example is enchiladas, where the tortilla is filled and rolled up and then cooked. Tacos use tortillas for the shell. Tortillas are used as turnovers when making quesadillas, before being filled and fried.

If you think that tortillas are just for eating, think again. There is a type of art that is called “tortilla art.” It is a fine art that uses tortillas as the canvas. First, the tortillas are baked and then covered with acrylic. After that, they are painted. Tortilla art is made to represent the culture of Latino artists.

Tortillas are also, what are used to make the tortilla chips. The tortilla is cut into wedges and fried. Corn tortillas are made from corn, vegetable oil, salt, and water. The chips first became popular in the 1940s in Los Angeles, California where the chips were mass-produced, but it is still considered a Mexican food.

Americans like to use tortillas in a lot of different foods and recipes. Tortillas are used in burritos, which originated in northern Mexico. Native Mexican tribes in the southwestern United States and people from the northern states of Mexico enjoy tortillas as a staple food. A lot of Mexican and non-Mexican restaurants have tortillas on the menu or use them as an ingredient in their dishes. You can buy them at the grocery store and even make homemade tortillas.

There are many different recipes available to search, so join in on a tasty convenient food that many Americans have already discovered.

Not long ago I spent a month in Sweden. One of the things I learned is that seafood is very much a part of their culture. Well you would think so right, I mean the ocean isn’t THAT far away. However being from the Midwest it was just something I wasn’t used to so it didn’t dawn on me.

While traveling abroad I ran into a wonderful new shrimp dish that was new to me and now that I am back home I have been trying to recreate it and so far the results have been spectacular.

It’s actually quite easy, but I have ‘Americanized’ it a bit. First you make a white cream sauce. Standard you know the one where you melt butter then just add flour to make a rue and add milk and simmer to thicken.

Afterwards you need to throw in a crumbly cheese, with ricotta, bleu cheese and parmesan being examples of what you can use. Branch out and try new cheeses or go with what is familiar to you. While I have only tried using crumbly cheeses, it would likely work with any cheese.

Next you add curry. You season it to taste so maybe you should start with light curry like I do. Just remember that it will get stronger the longer you cook it. Next add the pasta and shrimp that you have already cooked to perfection.

If you don’t live near a coast, it’s best to buy frozen, pre cooked shrimp. Fresh shrimp may be difficult to find, and raw frozen shrimp is not a lot of fun to clean and cook. This shrimp recipe is very versatile. You can turn it into a casserole that will feed your whole family. Or for a more expensive and elegant look, you can keep the pasta seperate and pile shrimp and sauce on top. Add a sprinkling of paprika and fresh cilantro and you’ve easily turned an ordinary meal gourmet!

Prepared sauces are available that will save you time and effort in the kitchen. Some of the ready-made alfredo sauces may come a bit thick or rich, but that is easily remedied by stirring in a small amount of milk. Next comes the cheese, curry, onion, garlic, and any other additions you desire.

If you’ve just bought an expensive motorcycle, you might not have thought to save money for the gear you’ll need, which can also be expensive. This is why you need to find something safe, but cheap.

You can definitely find a cheap motorcycle helmet that is still stylish and safe, but it will take a little searching. You will also need to be more vigilant than normal about making sure your helmet meets safety standards.

If you’re looking for a cheap motorcycle helmet, try a sale. This can be a good way to get a quality helmet for a lower price. The beginning of riding season, when older helmets are being cleared out, is a good time to look.

If you like to shop at larger chain stores, you may be in luck finding a cheap motorcycle helmet. These stores buy many of their products in bulk, which gives them savings which are then passed down to you.

If you’re willing to go with a helmet with fewer graphic you will also be able to find a lower price. A plain helmet with all of the safety features, but fewer of the fancy bells and whistles, will be a cheap motorcycle helmet.

Different styles and designs also come with different prices. A full face helmet is always more expensive than an open face helmet. It is true, however, that a full face helmet offers more and different types of protection.

No matter how much you want a cheap motorcycle helmet, never buy a used helmet. A used helmet is basically as worthless as wearing no helmet at all, because you know nothing about its interior quality.

If you are looking for a cheap motorcycle helmet, there are many different ways to find one. Do keep in mind when you’re searching for a helmet that you need one which is safe, even if it’s a bit more money.

by Dorthy Weatherbush

Do you dislike the way you look now? Are you feeling uneasy about yourself and therefore find yourself avoiding relationships with members of the opposite sex? If so, there is good news. You can make a shift in your life and adjust your habits so that you will have a body you can finally be proud of. The best thing about it for you is that if you decide to day to take action on these simple solutions, you’ll see real results even before President Elect Obama takes office. Wouldn’t that be cool, a new president and a new and improved you.

For you step one is to simply get you up and out of that sedentary lifestyle. The key is to get your metabolism going as quickly as possible. To do this, wake up just 10 minutes early and take a brisk walk around your home two to three times.

Step two is for you to do what your mother always told you. Eat your breakfast. After much research, most doctors agree that breakfast really is the most important way to start your day. By eating breakfast, you give your body permission to begin to burn those calories. This means that all morning long, your body is working to process those nutrients so that you’ll have additional energy from the start all the way to the end of the day.

You need to take a serious look at what you are putting into your body for fuel. Candy and soda may have the sugar in it for a quick jump-start, but it does not have the lasting nutrients that you need for energy. Make sure that you are enjoying a balanced diet that has lots of fruits and vegetables in it. These are lower in calories, but help your stomach to stay full.

You must also hydrate yourself, and that means drinking lots and lots of water. Water is really something that keeps your body in top operating condition. A trick is that if you are drinking any caffeinated free beverage then you can count that as water in your day.

Your next step is to count calories better than old Ebenezer Scrooge counted his pennies. By staying abreast on how many calories you are consuming each day, you are better able to plan meals an establish portion controls. The good news is that this doesn’t mean you give up what you love to eat, rather it simply means you might it less of what you love eat.

Eat early and eat often. This may be counter intuitive but it actually does work. Try it and you’ll discover that if you watch what you eat and how much of it you eat, that if you were to munch on smaller portions throughout the day rather than having only 3 large meals a day, that you would rarely feel hungry and your metabolism will shoot through the roof.

Write down what you are eating. It’s easy to forget what you have been putting into your mouth, but by writing it down you will give yourself an accurate view of what you are eating. This provides you with some accountability and knowledge as to what you are including in your diet.

Last but not least is the motivation factor. While eating the right foods at the right times and exercising are all very important things, none of those things are possible without proper motivation and support. Forget trying to do it on your own. If you could have done it, you would have by now. The best thing to do is to find a running buddy. Someone whom you can confide in and someone you can trust that will not let you give up. You two can support one another as you press forward toward creating the body you deserve by inauguration day.

Hell I didn’t know till 1986,Well I knew I just didn’t know him! Pappy an my Mother got separated when I was young and I didn’t see Pappy from around 76 till 86. When I met him he wasn’t even known as Pappy yet! That came later.

I had lived with my Mother an step-Father on Long Island in NY till the Summer of 86. I had always been into Bikes and the life style. Many times after getting into some kind of trouble I would hear the saying “He is just like his Father”. Little did I know at the time just how true it really was! After getting into some more teenage trouble (you know the deal Drinking,Staying out late, getting brought home by the cops 2 or 3 times). My Mother figured it was time for me to meet my Father. So in the Summer of 86 at the age of 15, I found myself flying up to Rochester NY to meet my Father!

When I first met Pappy He owned a large House and He rented out rooms in the house to College kids and other Bikers. Almost as soon as I got there Pappy started teaching me to Ride a Motorcycle and probably just as important if not more, what the words Respect, Honesty , Loyalty and Brotherhood mean in the Biker World. I still remember clearly one time at a John Fogarty Concert. Me, Pappy and a few other Bikers where in the parking lot looking at Motorcycles. I saw this really cool bike with this paint job that was just unbelievable, I went to touch it and Pappy grabbed my hand looked at me in the eyes and told me “Never touch another mans Bike without his permission” and till this day I never have.

The House Pappy owend was well known by many of the Bikers in the area and was the place many large party’s where held, It was not uncommon to find a bunch of Bikers sleeping in the living room any given morning. These Bikers where family to me and when they said “He is just like his Father” it gave me a feeling of over whelming pride! I have always loved hearing the stories these true Brothers of the biker world would tell me. I feel the old Biker stories need to be saved and told over and over again.

New Motorcycle Riders are learning about Biker history from old 1960’s Biker Gang movies that have no historic truth to them. Just like with any culture if you lose your true history you lose what you really are! I feel the only way to return the Biker world to its true origin is to keep the old stories alive ! Too many “Bikers” complain that the younger Motorcycle Riders of today have no idea what it means to be a Biker! Well I think maybe the problem is that some of the older Bikers never really knew what it meant to be a Biker, Because if they did they would know its their job to teach the next generation! A new Motorcycle Rider must know what the Spirit of Biker Brotherhood is before he can truly feel it and become a part of it. (Maybe that’s part of why I became a writer?)

I said at the Beginning of this story Pappy was not yet known as Pappy and I would tell you how that came to be. Well if you remember the Summer of 86 you will remember the Karate Kid Movie was a Big Hit and was on HBO like 10 times a day,Well as far as I could remember I had never called anyone Dad or Father or anything like that. In the Karate Kid they called each other miyagi san and Daniel san! Well thinking I was clever I started calling my Father “Pappy san”, He in turn started calling me Son of Pappy and soon after everyone started calling Him Pappy!

Now many of You maybe wondering why the Hell am I telling you all this. Well like I have said there are many Motorcycle riders these days that have no clue what Biker Brotherhood really is. I think it is important that they know this is not something you buy into, But something you grow into. Too many buy a Motorcycle and then do nothing but talk, They are only there for you if you have something to offer them. There are very few true Bikers left, Bikers are being replaced by Motorcycle enthusiasts and part of it is our own fault! I write this story in hopes it will help spread the word that only the true old School bikers can teach the younger generation the true meaning of Biker Brotherhood.

A true Biker who feels the Brotherhood Spirit always has some older Biker to thank for passing that Spirit onto him! I thank my Father Pappy, My Uncle Trey and all the other Bikers Who helped to raise me to be the Biker I am, I am very glad to have been raised by them and I am very Proud to have grown up to be one of them !

Thousands of years ago people around the world knew of the values of Kombucha tea. This incredible brew continues to reign as one of the most amazing nutritional supplements, and is all natural.

Does the name Kombucha have meaning? Many believe it originated in Korea two thousand years ago. A medicine man treated the emporer with this elixir of long life. This healer, Kombu, appears to gain credit for this cha, or tea.

Is Kombucha a fungus or mushroom? Neither, it is a combination of bacteria, like the beneficial ones that aid in your digestion, and yeast. These two substances work together, and form a spongy little pancake that floats over the top of the nutrient rich tea.

What does Kombucha do for you? Let’s start with the detoxification, aiding the body in clearing toxins from the liver. Kombucha also brings balance back into the body systems, creating a better acid and alkaline balance.

Our digestion is aided by the probiotic qualities of Kombucha. We need our healthy flora to digest, and Kombucha does not interfere with that process. Kombucha even restores our metabolic balance.

Can we improve our health through something as simple as drinking Kombucha tea? Many believe so, and conditions like acne and rheumatoid arthritis have responded to this simple drink. Studies continue around the world into the benefits of Kombucha for ailments as serious as cancer.

Nothing could be easier than adding a little Kombucha into your daily diet. Even our pets health can improve too, and many pets drink this elixir quickly once they feel the restoring benefits. Over time one thing is for sure, Kombucha tea continues to be a healthy, nutritious beverage.

Think about the words Motorcycle Club! Why is it that when those words are heard together many think Crime or Criminal Organization? Say you are having an event and you are looking for a place to have it. You can have a book club and everyone will welcome you in! A cooking club and everyone really loves you. You say Motorcycle Club and right away its, Sorry we are busy on that day!

Motorcycle Clubs are even turned away from bars where they want to have events by Independent Bikers,Why is that? We need to let the world know that Bikers independent or in a Motorcycle Club can be good people! We can not show people that Motorcycle Club Members are not all bad if we are not allowed in a Bar because we are wearing Colors, Its the same thing if you are an independent biker and some one will not let you in some sports bar because you are wearing a leather jacket! I hope when an independent Biker who has turned away Motorcycle Clubs from his bar and is then turned away from a bar he wants to go in Understands the irony!

Some Motorcycle Clubs have even gone so far as to changed their name, they call themselves Riding Clubs,Motorcycle associations or some other type of group so they can leave out the words Motorcycle Club! and try to avoid the problems that come with being part of a Motorcycle Club! They say they are different from a Motorcycle Club ! They look and dress and act just like a motorcycle Club but they just call themselves something different! I say a rose by any other name !!!

These Clubs are just trying to get around all the prejudice associated with the words Motorcycle Club ! They are not part of the solution but are part of the problem! This is America and You can call your Club what ever you want, But the thing that unites you and your Club is the same thing that unites all who Ride! It is the Motorcycle! How can anyone leave out the word Motorcycle? It is the heart of what you are!

If You are a Motorcycle Club be proud of it and don’t try to get around any problems by playing word games and calling yourself something else by using different words!!!

This is just my opinion I would like to know what others think, Please email me at AmericanBikerX@Yahoo.com Your Bro LJ James AmericanBikerX.com

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were to cross a blackberry and a raspberry? The answer, which we have thanks to a couple of Scottish botanists, is the tayberry a large reddish purple berry.

First cultivated in Invergowrie, Scotland by Scottish Crops Research Institute botanists David Mason and David Jennings, the tayberry is a blackberry-raspberry cross, which bears fruit in mid to late summer and tastes wonderful eaten out of hand or cooked.

The Tayberry looks at first glance like a blackberry, but all it takes is one taste to know this is no ordinary blackberry. The tayberry has a tart bite thanks to its raspberry heritage, which sets it apart. This is a surprising but deliciously welcome newcomer to the fruits in your local market.

Tayberries are perfect for a summer picnic basket or a late summer pie. If you are planning a picnic to your local park, tayberry jam and peanut butter sandwiches may be exactly what you have the taste for it makes a wonderful jam. Before heading to your picnic, you may want to prepare a tayberry pie the night before.

Try adding tayberries to a bowl of yogurt or ice cream, or incorporate them into fruit salads and smoothies for something a little different. In fact, you can use tayberries anywhere you would ordinarily use blackberries or raspberries. Tayberries are an exciting addition to your morning cereal, baked goods and of course, they are wonderful just eaten as they are - there’s no wrong answer to the question of how to enjoy these fruits.

You may want to bring along a nice bottle of tayberry wine to your wonderful evening dinner. It is called tayberry because they were developed near the Valley of the Tay River. This wine is delicious and very vibrant red in color. It is a tart, yet sweet wine. You can enjoy it with a beef stew, roast, and other meats such as steak and wild game, such as duck. You can also enjoy it with hors d’oeuvres and a strong cheddar cheese. It is a fairly priced bottle of wine running about $15.

Amongst the wonderful tart flavor that this dual fruit brings, there are also health benefits. It is highly rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Then of course there is fiber and folate. The leaves and the root are known to help prevent diarrhea.

Tayberry leaves, like raspberry and blackberry leaves can be chewed as an effective home remedy for bleeding gums and a number of other ailments; in fact, the Scots have been using these leaves for 2,000 years!

Tayberry can be used for many things from home remedies to food and wine. Definitely a different type of fruit and surely delicious you will be amazed at how many things you can make with it. Although tart in nature, many have used it to make pies, jams, and pudding. Sure there is a lot more that you can find in such an exotic fruit. It is really only limited by your imagination.
