Researchers and Scientist brought some news for chocolate lovers stating that it may be important for the body. These groups of individuals includes a preliminary evidence on their reports stating that cocoa and other chocolates have the capability to normalize a high blood pressure for any hypertensive persons, makes the blood vessels regulates well and make the heart function healthy. In accordance to this research, there is substance called Nitric Oxide which is create and regulated by cocoa. This Nitric Oxide is a compound essential for a healthy and well blood flow as well as for blood pressure. Other research reveal that a Flavanol in cocoa triggers any fatty substances in the bloodstream in order to avoid clogging of the arterial as well as can make the platelets act by sticking together and avoid blood clots. There are 4,000 types of compound sources which are possible for this type of activity and one of individuals is compound found in chocolate called Flavonoids which was secreted from cocoa bean. Cocoa bean is really a component of chocolate. The term used for these flavonoids in cocoa is flavanols.

In general, research have found that this dark chocolate has higher components of flavonoids evaluate to white ones. It is really a way how the cocoa powder and syrups of this chocolate are processed that removes essential flavonoids. A rationale on this study shows that the a lot more intake of flavanol in the human body also relates the intense activity of Nitric Oxide. This Nitric Acid has a very substantial role in maintaining a healthy blood pressure and even in the cardiovascular system.

Chocolate is known as a good source of promoting good blood flow. In accordance to studies and researches performed by scientists and researchers, a low dose of aspirin performs exactly the exact same to a flavonol that may be present in cocoa and chocolate. And this action promotes a healthy blood flow. So it’ll reduce the possibility of blood vessels clotting as well as reduces any risk of possible stroke as well as heart attack to a person with higher blood pressure. This would only mean that an individual with allergic symptoms to aspirin may consume a flavanol rich food which is in the composition of a chocolate. Though, it’s not a medicine, it is considered like a best alternative method. The explanation goes as the blood platelet activity is associated the benefits produce by Nitric Oxide.

It may be studied and observed that a number of bioactive components, compounds and substances in chocolate are verified to promote a state of alertness, promote a well-being, and even lessen pain. Facts display that a stimulants caffeine, theobromine, phenylethylamine, and tyramine provide a brain fogged for any desire needed lift. Tryptophan, an essential amino acid works to decrease any form of anxiety by the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin; endorphins, the body’s neutral opiates; all of these are categorized to lessen body discomfort. Other compound like Anandamide serves similar to cannabinoid which promote and regulate relaxation. Chocolate can also be a natural type of analgesic.

A summary for these studies and research would only state that eating chocolate in its suggested amount will give sufficient energy lift, lessen the anxiousness, along with a reduction to a possible pain. However, Nutritionists, and Biochemists could usually argue that chocolates doesn’t contain a lot of these advantageous and health giving benefits. For instance, Nutritionists, and Biochemists will say that caffeine is really a substance the make us alert but there is a much less amount of caffeine in chocolate if they’ve to compare it to some cup of plain coffee. There are only 30 milligrams of caffeine in a bar of chocolate but there is 100-150 milligrams of caffeine is present on a plain cup of coffee. Another situation is the experience of being alert for a while after consuming a bar of chocolate. However, that temporary great feeling of satisfaction is most likely to be changed by an activity of sugar induced drop energy that brings fatigue even compared before consuming a chocolate. An additional compound may be the anandamine that may cause a feeling of becoming “high”; a experience associated in the impact of getting marijuana.

The Battle Of Chocolates Requirements Chocolate Lovers’ Vote

“Chocolat”, the comedy released in 2000 based on the novel by Joanne Harris was crystal clear when he said that each individual includes a different chocolate match. Chocolate lovers all over the world would agree to this. Love and passion for chocolates is relative. One’s interest to get a chocolate might vary from another person’s. See adore for chocolates is dependent on a person’s taste and his taste alone!

Even although the true measure of a chocolate lover is that they would eat anything that is chocolate, there is more than a hundred percent chance that they’ve a preferred brand or type. So, with all of the chocolates in the world and countries claiming to be the best in generating them, who truly takes the hat?

Where it Began

The history of the chocolate goes back again to the times of the Aztecs once they discovered that the beads within the pods of the cocoa tree can be squashed and processed to create a dark, bitter liquid which they mixed with spices. The resulting frothy mixture allegedly gave power to their gods and leaders. Even then, they knew the cocoa tree to become of some substance they could use in the future. If only they could find much better signifies to process xocolat, the word they used to call the drink.

Only the Aztec leaders had been allowed to drink and because the beans were revered so much, it became a currency. When the Spanish conquerors went back again to Spain, they tried to introduce the beans to the majesties. Regrettably, they couldn’t discover a lot use for them just however. But right after some main trials and errors, they realized that when mixed with spices for example cinnamon, nutmeg and some sugar, the sweet result is even a lot more tantalizing. From then on, it grew popularity and for a while, it became Spain’s best kept secret. It took about a hundred years before the rest of Europe found about the solution and when it did, it spread like wildfire amongst the nobilities because they are the only ones who can afford the expensive beans. Soon, European nations began their own methods of enhancing chocolate production.

A Triple Treat

The battle for finding the perfect chocolate formula has seeped into the European nations. Spain, surprisingly, took a step back and watched while France, Belgium and Switzerland took turns in producing chocolate background. Even the Americas joined the clamor right after the industrial revolution and the consecutive wars. However, the truth remains that chocolate lovers know France, Belgium and Switzerland to be creators of the finest chocolates in the world!

The French are known for their liberal however art-loving lives, their sense of fashion, culinary prowess along with a distinct way of life. French chocolates however, are surprisingly not usually known to be one of their expertise. French morsels are often embellished with edible ornaments, hand-painted and carved painstakingly, almost like a work of fine art and what’s nice is it’s as delicious since it looks! The dark chocolates are subtle in taste and it’s neither as sweet nor bitter as any other type. The flavor merely lingers in the mouth.

With regards to building what we now know as mass produced chocolates, the Swiss requires the front row seats. Chocolate was introduced to Switzerland when Zurich mayor, Heinrich Escher, imported cocoa beans and consumed it in banquets. It was banned thereafter due to its alleged aphrodisiac benefits. But no one can stop the Swiss from getting the makers of chocolate as we recognize them these days. So, what’s your vote?

Chocolate Lovers Owe It To Background

Despite the ongoing recession we have today, a brave projection of a 2011 sales for American chocolates reached about $18 million. Apparently, the dwindling marketplace has not affected the appetite of buyers when it comes to these delicate sweets. Chocolate lovers owe it to the history of chocolates. Chocolates have been pre-recorded and its popularity was never as soon as questioned. In fact, if the numbers are correct, people are discovering more methods to take advantage of chocolate other than satisfy wonderful craving for the tempting.

Food for the Gods

Thank God for chocolates! As a chocolate lover, my curiosity was piqued when I had a bite of the macadamia chocolates that I truly adore! Since then I knew that chocolates have originated from the Amazon had been the very first cocoas had been discovered in 2000 BC. Largely used through the Maya Culture, the word chocolate came from xocoatl meaning bitter water. The Mayas love for cocoa was imprinted in history thru the wood carvings found dating all the way back to about 300AD, showing photos of cocoa pods. The Mayan territory expanded in 600AD and they took their cocoa with them to the northern parts of South America till their wanderings took them to the Guatemalan shores. This region became birthing soil to large cocoa plantations where the pods are frequently introduced as holy matters in rituals. They believe cocoa to become food exclusive for the consumption of gods.

Dim Waters in Gold Goblets

The hot xocoatl, a dark drink that is sweet to the taste, was regarded by Aztecs and Mayans to be a health sustaining drink and used it for many medicinal purposes. They also considered that drinking the dark juice or eating the fruits would bring them wisdom. Even then, the natives considered in xocoatl’s nourishing powers. Their leaders drank gallons of dark chocolate dyed in red. Those had been served in gold goblets.

The Bean Pay Ups

Due to its popularity and significance, the cocoa beans even became a form of currency among Mayans and Aztecs. They used cocoa beans to sell, trade and buy commodities throughout the earlier times.

In 1492, Columbus presented King Ferdinand and his Queen with cocoas upon his return but very little attention was given to them and even on his journey in search for spices in India, Columbus didn’t understand the great possible of the chocolate. Otherwise, he could are already the one who found and announced the immense potential of such sweets.

And so more and more people have begun using the fairly sweet chocolates as an important currency signifying wealth depending on the vastness of plantations owned. In fact, an explorer through the name of Hernando de Oviedo y Valdez claimed to have purchased slaves and prostitutes using cocoa pods.

And in 1519, some parts of Mexico had been at some point conquered by Hernando Cortez who was fascinated by xocoatl a lot more for its currency value than its taste. At that time, the taste of the chocolates was a little bit bitter fairly sweet and spicy. Leaning further that cultivating the cocoa tree is obviously a great company, he established multiple plantations thereby cultivating money for Spain.

Truly, I can in no way imagine a world without these fairly sweet fanciful delicacies in my life. As a chocolate lover, I’ve always had the yearning to discover new kinds of chocolates each day if possible. Might they be normal or ordinary chocolates, gourmet chocolates or home-made but exceptionally delectable chocolates, my love and passion for them will always be there!

Chocolate Enthusiasts And Obesity

Chocolates have become one of the most popular confectioneries ever made and sold. Chocolate lovers, young and old, rich and poor, have discovered themselves becoming hooked having a confessing indulgence for it. Despite of the popularity chocolates have achieved, you will find still questions and arguments which are becoming raised about its influence on the human health.

Black and White Chocolates

Chocolates have two faces under its name. One is white and the other is black, but of course, these variants represent benefits one can get from the other. Black chocolate, otherwise known as dark chocolate comprises sugar, cocoa mass and butter. On the other hand, white chocolate or milk chocolate has flavorings, vegetable fats and some milk solids. But regardless of whether white or black, dark or milk chocolate, chocolates nevertheless fascinate and give pleasure to anyone who eats it.

Debating Nutritional Value of Chocolates

For more than the years, chocolates have made its method to being the favorite “confectionery” of all time. But in spite of the alluring images chocolates have produced, debate and arguments happen to be raised and produced on wherever chocolates should be placed. This really is simply because as we know, chocolates still stay in the ‘junk’ category. Both proponents of every side have their positions as to what chocolate can do. But for regular chocolate enthusiasts, chocolates will still be chocolates.

But digging deep into it, lovers or non-lovers of chocolate should and should get a glimpse of these issues. Whichever side has a heavier and a lot more relevant proof, should be taken into a much better consideration. Every bite leaves a soothing feeling that’s hard to define, but renders a powerful desire to experience.

Chocolates as Aphrodisiac

Aside from the sensation and delight it gives, chocolate also makes itself an aphrodisiac agent. As an energy booster, studies show that, it offers an adequate reserve of power, particularly when they’ve higher glucose content in them. Food industries have created chocolate an integral part of the global marketplace, and thus, chocolates still remain best sellers in the marketplace today since 600 AD, even from the time of the Mayans.

Chocolates and Weight Problems

Although the chocolate world has obtained valuable commendation, they also share a “veto” image just like any other product. These are the days when obesity has turn out to be a main word of mouth to every citizen close to the globe. Being overweight has not just become an ordinary irregularity of body mass, but additionally is regarded as one of the essential causes of chronic diseases. Medical practitioners have spent time carrying out research to determine the root cause of this issue. From the long list of factors that could trigger obesity, chocolates are discovered included in the list.

Obesity-Chocolate Link

An independent study in the UK predicted that occurrences of obesity may rise to a lot more than 50% by the year 2020. Statistics, lawmakers & the medical world have proposed that confectioners should not be sold anymore in the pharmacies as becoming practiced in many corners of the world. Aside from being linked to obesity, chocolates are also suspected to be one causative factor triggering diabetes. This proposition is still under consideration due to the vast studies that are still in progress to prove the same.

Positive Reports on Chocolates

On the other hand, good reports on chocolates are continue to being circulated and created. Studies also show that dark chocolates consumed moderately, can bestow cardiovascular benefits due to the presence of “flavanol” which plays a main role in the circulatory system. This increases the content of high density lipoprotein (HDL), more popularly known as the good cholesterol; thus preventing the occurrence of cardiovascular related diseases.

The choice is ours and we are the ones who should decide if chocolates can someday be cheaper than therapy which never requires an appointment. Though a record of contradicting propositions follows, chocolates will continue to remain the most intimate confectionary close to a man’s heart. And with the abounding chocolates in the marketplace, making us crave for every bite, chocolates will forever be a delight for chocolate lovers like me! Now the battle is choosing between chocolates and obesity!

Getting the Most Healthy Form Of Chocolate In Your Diet

Chocolate is the new ‘Black’. Its making waves in all the health circles, as its health benefits appeal to medical and health practitioners with diverse educations and specialties. Laboratory studies reveal its potent anti-oxidant actions, and ‘chocolate parties’ reveal a great many other positive effects. We’ve all seen the surveys where many women would prefer chocolate over sex (this does not seem to be the case in European countries, however); add to this the results of an Italian study mentioning that women who eat chocolate have more sex, and the subject gets a little spicy. Spicy enough even to consider adding a healthy dose of chocolate to your life? Need more reasons? Chocolate makes your bones more dense, it prevents heart disease, its thought to attract abundance, and its full of mood-boosting and intelligence-boosting neurotransmitter precursors. Healthy, wealthy, wise and happy. So it is as easy and eating all the Hershey’s bars you can get a hold of? Well, not quite…

Like so many things in our modern world, its the processing of chocolate that makes all the difference. This isn’t just the New Age Hippy types saying this either (as one, the author feels comfortable making this statement). The scientists measuring all the chemicals in our food, telling us which bits are good and which are bad are saying it to. It’s RAW, minimally-processed chocolate that’s the miracle food. Un-roasted, un-cooked plain old powdered chocolate, better known as ‘Cacao’, is far superior in every way for your health. It’s called a ’superfood’ by many, as it’s list of super-good for you super-nutrients is extensive. Note that ‘organic’ does not mean ‘raw’. Even the premium organic hot-chocolate powders found in the high-end health food stores is still roasted and usually processed with alkali (called ‘Dutch Processing’, making it easier to dissolve in water, and destroying most of the antioxidants at the same time). This means that 99% of the chocolate products on the shelves are NOT the superfood you wished they were, but it also points the direction to how to include chocolate in your life on an exceptionally health daily basis. We’ll get to some recipes in a moment, but first a few points to help you remember why raw chocolate is where it’s at.

First the question of Caffeine. Many folks are sensitive to caffeine’s effect on their nervous system. It raises blood pressure, shortens tempers and keeps people awake. And we all know chocolate has caffeine in it, right? But what form is it in? Research done by homeopaths indicates a significant difference on the stimulating effects of chocolate depending on whether it’s been heated or not. A drink made with roasted chocolate evoked excitement of the nervous system that did not occur with unroasted chocolate. Alteration of chemical structures through heat is common, and occurs in the case of chocolate. The roasting process involves heating the beans between 250 and 350 degrees F for 30 minutes to 2 hours. Anecdotal reports of individuals moving from coffee or yerba mate as their morning drink to a cup of hot chocolate report gentle stimulating effects without anxiety, as their other drinks had produced. Even very sensitive people who do not do well with any form of caffeine report positive results with raw chocolate; nothing at all like the effects produced by coffee or caffeinated teas.

The really big news about chocolate has been it’s antioxidant profile. Chocolate contains significant amounts of polyphenols — the same important antioxidants found in green tea, red wine and green apples — but in greater amounts. Dark chocolate contains an impressive 5% of these compounds, yet raw chocolate is made up of an incredible 10% concentration of these possibly life-extending molecules. Both roasting and processing with alkali (to make Dutch cocoa) reduce antioxidant concentration. Further, the increased absorbability of powdered raw cacao (perhaps the most versatile form of raw chocolate) over cacao nibs give them an edge in ORAC value, a measure of Oxidative Radical Absorbance Capacity.

Maybe the most intriguing constituents of chocolate are it’s mood-altering chemicals besides its stimulation. Many users of raw chocolate find and even greater boost than from commercial chocolates. Like caffeine, some of the molecules attributed to mood-enhancement are also heat sensitive. Tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin, is present in significant amounts and is known to be broken down by heat (and apparently it’s not the Tryptophan in the turkey dinners that makes one tired, it’s the three servings followed by pie and ice cream!). Other natural constituents are dopamine and precursors to dopamine, one molecule called the ‘love chemical’ and another called the ‘bliss chemical’. Add to these monoamine oxidase inhibitors which actually enhance the activity of all of the above mood brighteners. Finally, there’s lots of easily absorbed magnesium in raw chocolate, a mineral associated with serotonin production (many pharmaceutical antidepressants increase serotonin activity), and the ability to relax. Raw chocolate offers the healthiest and most effective means of adding these happy-making nutrients to your daily diet.

Convinced? Ready for a little raw chocolate power? First its critical to find a good source; make sure the chocolate you’re buying is raw – it will be most likely labeled ‘Cacao’, the name for the raw chocolate beans and the tree on which they grow. Cacao nibs are small pieces of pure raw chocolate that can be eaten straight, or mixed with other healthy snacks like Gogi berries. But the best-loved raw chocolate preparation is the original chocolate drink: hot chocolate. Now it won’t be hot enough for long enough to convert any chemicals or to cook the chocolate, just to make it a warm comforting drink – and of course, heating the water isn’t necessary at all (though in recipes calling for Coconut oil, it helps to blend the oil into the drink). So to make a cup, use powdered raw chocolate (grinding the nibs or beans in a coffee grinder can work, though you’ll find this challenging as the natural oils in the chocolate will heat up and liquefy before the grinding is complete, leaving little crunchy bits). Put one or two tablespoons powdered chocolate, 1 to 2 teaspoons raw dark agave nectar (a low-glycemic index natural sweetner) and 1 to 2 teaspoons of Coconut oil in a blender. Add 8 to 12 ounces almost-boiling water and blend for 10 seconds. That’s it! You’ll find your personal favorite formula after a few preparations – more or less chocolate, oil, sweetener or water.

There are many, many recipes available online and in books about raw chocolate. Some favorite additions to the drink are Maca, cinnamon, tocopherols (a form of Vitamin E), and for the truly hard core, blue green algae and spirulina. Your own raw chocolate bars are very easy to make, really just by omitting the water and adjusting the oil and sweetener ratios to make a thick chocolate paste. Add some chopped nuts if you like, press into a casserole dish and put it in the refrigerator long enough to make it firm. Experiment; it’s chocolate! You’re supposed to have fun. And with raw chocolate, it might be the most fun you can have eating while positively benefiting your health.

A BBQ Chicken Recipe That Beats the Rest

When choosing a BBQ meat chicken is one of the most popular across the world because of its availability, affordability, it is filling and a great protein. It also of course tastes great! It is versatile in how it can be cooked, whether in an oven or on a grill or smoker and anyone can do it. So out of the thousands of recipes for BBQ chicken how do you find one that won’t disappoint? There are certain ingredients to look for in a recipe that make it tasty so that at your next BBQ you and your friends can enjoy it.

For the regular BBQ chicken there are a lot of different recipes and many different ingredients but usually if you see the following then you are on to a good one. Cumin, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, ketchup, sugar, cinnamon, even sometimes beer. For chicken that has an Asian flavored sauce you want a recipe that has items like soy or hoisin sauce, ginger and honey. Remember everyone has their own tastes and preferences which is why there are so many different variations out there. A great base recipe to start with is one from a show called Paula’s Home Cooking with Paula Deen where she makes a dish called Deens Brothers BBQ Chicken. It is one that anyone can follow and tastes great as is, or you can play with it.

Ingredients:1/4 cup dark brown sugar packed, 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder, tablespoons orange juice, teaspoon cayenne pepper, teaspoon liquid smoke, teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, chicken (3 1/2 pounds) cut into eight. Preparation: preheat the oven to 375F or if cooking on the grill brush it with olive oil. In a large bowl mix in all the ingredients apart from the chicken. Put aside a third of the sauce for later and then add the chicken in the bowl and move it around so that BBQ sauce coats it. If cooking in the oven place the chicken in a roasting pan and cook for 40-45 minutes or until properly cooked. If cooking on the grill cover it. Remember to use the BBQ sauce you set aside to baste the chicken after twenty minutes of cooking.

This makes great flavored chicken and is simple to do. In case you are unsure about liquid smoke it basically gives the flavor of the chicken having been smoked, but without going through the whole long smoking procedure. If you would rather not have that smokiness then leave that ingredient out.

If you are not used to cutting up pieces of meat and are unsure how to cut a whole chicken into eight pieces ask your butcher to do it, or just buy chicken pieces! Either buy a selection of legs, thighs and breasts or go for just the thighs as these tend to be a lot cheaper than the breast and still taste good. Plus they will cook quicker so you can get to the eating quicker! Try it out and I am sure you will be happy with it.

Chocolates Are Healthy Too

When we talk about chocolates, there’s this misconception that chocolates is not good and that it causes acne and obesity. This is not really true so if you love chocolates, you will be glad to know that consuming chocolate is also good for health. This means you can eat this heavenly mouthfuls without feeling guilty all the time. You don’t need to avoid chocolates thinking that all it does was to make you fat because there are some health benefits to chocolates.

It is really true. Chocolates do have some health benefits and it has been proven in all sorts of scientific research over the years. This is because chocolates are made of cocoa. Cocoa is made from cacao beans and cacao beans are extracted from the cacao fruit of the cacao tree. Basically, chocolate is a fruit product that underwent a tedious process to turn it into the delicious, addictive dessert you love. You will have pure cocoa if you extracted the milk and sugar from chocolates. Cocoa has a bitter taste although it has the rich chocolate scent.

Now, pure dark cocoa is very high in anti-oxidants which means it fights the free radical floating around. Also, research has proven that consuming a certain amount of dark chocolate each day will be able to help to lower your blood pressure and even prevent heart disease. Therefore, eating chocolate is not all bad but could be beneficial to your health.

Of course, this does not mean that you should rush right out to get truckloads of chocolates and binge on them. You will still need to practice some self-restrain as most commercial chocolates out there are high in sugars and milk chocolate with low cocoa content so these aren’t really all that healthy. You will need to be able to distinguish between bad chocolates and good chocolates.

You read right. Some chocolates are good and some are bad. Bad chocolates contains loads of sugars and after eating this, it will give you a sugar rush and perhaps even help you on the way to getting diabetes. These high-sugar chocolates can cause obesity and these are the ones that gave the good chocolates the bad reputation. Good chocolates are the ones that do not have high sugar. To be able to filter out the bad chocolates, just read the labels and look at the ingredients. If the first few ingredients have the word ’sugar’ in it, put it back and don’t eat it!

As for the good chocolates, these are pretty easy to distinguish from the bad ones. Once again, you will need to read the labels and look for the magic words like ’sugar-free’, ‘low-fat’ and cocoa percentage. Yes, you will need to purchase chocolates with at least 70% cocoa content just so that you can get the health benefits from it. The sugar-free ones will not be bitter and are mostly sweetened with artificial sweeteners. If you don’t want to be consuming synthetic artificial sweeteners, then you can even look for the natural organic sugar-free ones that uses natural sweeteners instead. These are the chocolates that will satisfy your chocolate craving and give you a boost in your health.
